We’re happy to share a new Bookalicious interview with Lukáš Cabala, author shortlisted for the European Union Prize for Literature 2025.

In his talk with Bookalicious, Lukáš opens up about his fascination with European history and how it shapes his writing. He explains why he loves to blur the lines between historical facts and fiction. He also talks about the Slovak literary scene and how young authors find their voice today.

Even though Lukáš’s storytelling is centered on his hometown of Trenčín, he believes that literature connects people beyond borders and languages. Lukáš also shared how the EUPL helps lesser-known writers reach new readers across Europe.
