Armen Ohanyan

Armen Ohanyan (b.1979; pen name Armen of Armenia) is a fiction writer, essayist and literary translator. He holds a BA in philosophy from Yerevan State University and the graduate certificate in Translation (CTRA) from American University of Armenia. He’s the author of the story collection [The Return of Kikos], and the trilogy of novels [Mommyland], where for the first time in Armenian literature LGBT people are presented under a positive light. He’s the president of Armenian PEN Center (since 2017), board member of TIAC and Human Rights House Yerevan.

Arevik Ashkharoyan

Arevik Ashkharoyan is a literary agent with 10-year experience in publishing. In 2016, she established ARI Literary and Talent Agency, representing a dozen of writers of Armenian origin from all over the world. In 2018, she also founded ARI Literature Foundation, a non-profit organization implementing projects aimed at development of local book market, promotion of reading and writing in Armenia and enhancing international dialogue.

Anahit Avetisyan

Anahit Avetisyan is a literary translator and conference interpreter. She holds a Master degree in translation from the Ecole de traduction et d’interpretation of the University of Geneva, and was also part of the Fellowship Programme in Paris organized by BIEF and French National Book Center (CNL) for foreign publishers, editors and rights managers. She was a member of the editorial committee for the special number dedicated to Armenia of the European online Transcript review on the Literature Across Frontiers platform and has been responsible for the bilingual collection of Contemporary Francophone literature at the Actual Art publishing house (Yerevan, Armenia) up until 2015. Anahit Avetisyan has translated into Armenian such authors as Michel Butor, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Robert Pinget, Nicolas Bouvier and others, as well as children’s literature. She also translates the works of Armenian contemporary writers into French.

Shakeh Havan

In 2001, Shakeh established Artbridge, the first bookstore café and restaurant in Yerevan, Armenia. During the past 20 years, she managed to change the culture of bookselling in the country, by promoting Armenian books, exporting them to libraries and customers around the world, and participating in international book fairs with the same vision of promoting Armenian issues and literature. She has initiated the project “Exhibition and Sales” for rural area in Armenia with collaboration with publishers to promote new publications. Shakeh has been working with the Ministry of Culture and has been a member of different committees such as UNESCO City of Books for Yerevan 2012.

Mkrtich Matevosyan

Mkrtich Matevosyan is a painter and graphic designer. He was born in 1961 in Gyumri city, Armenia. In 1995, he founded the Actual Art cultural union NGO which is mainly engaged in publishing activity. Actual Art publishes books on contemporary literature, art, philosophy, as well as children's books. Mkrtich Matevosyan is also the co-founder-editor of Actual Art magazine. He has 3 children.
