In a joint partnership together with the Lesesaal Buchhandlung bookshop from Hamburg, Germany, EUPL is excited to announce the first EUPL Book Club event in a bookshop! For their first event, Lesesaal has chosen the book of EUPL 2020 laureate Matthias Nawrat, Der traurige Gast (The Sad Guest), published by Rowohlt Verlag.
The reading circle
The bookshop is organising a 4-week reading circle on their social media channels, which will end on 1 December, when a live conversation with Matthias Nawrat will be broadcast on Lesesaal's Instagram account.
Der traurige Gast is slipt into two parts, which allows for natural split of the book for the reading circle. The first two weeks of November are dedicated to the first part of the book, with the following two weeks covering the second part. To help readers reflect on the book, the bookshop is proposing weekly questions on their social media channels.
Live discussion
The reading round ends on 28 November with a contribution under which readers can reflect on the entire book. On 1 December, the bookshop is gathering all participants to join a live discussion with Matthias Nawrat on their Instagram account, from 7:30 pm. You are welcome to send us any questions in advance or you can spontaneously ask them in the chat at the beginning of December.
How to join?
Follow Lesesaal bookshop on their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook and get involved with the discussion. Don't miss this exciting discussion!
