Marente de Moor

Marente de Moor (b. 1972) worked as a correspondent in Saint Petersburg for a number of years and wrote a book on her experiences, Petersburgse vertellingen (Stories from St. Petersburg), which was published in 1999. She made a successful debut as a novelist in 2007 with De overtreder (The Transgressor); the German translation of which, Amsterdam und zurück, was well received there too. For her second novel, De Nederlandse maagd (The Dutch Maiden, 2010) De Moor was awarded the AKO Literature Prize 2011.

Rodaan Al Galidi

Rodaan, who first called himself Al Galidi (his complete name is Rodaan Al Galidi) is a writer of Iraqi descent. As his native country didn’t register births when he was born, he does not know his birth date. He studied as an engineer in Iraq before fleeing to escape military service, arriving in the Netherlands in 1998. However, his request for asylum was rejected, and since he was not allowed to follow the official courses of Dutch language, he taught himself the language and started writing.

Andrea Kluitmann

Andrea Kluitmann has been translating Dutch literature, stage plays, scenarios and graphic novels into her mother tongue, German, since 1993. She is also a scout for several German publishers and a member of the sounding board group for the New Dutch Fiction brochure of the Dutch Foundation for Literature (NLF). In addition to translating, she also works as a German tutor, mainly for authors and other people working in the cultural sector.

Margot Hélène Dijkgraaf

Margot Dijkgraaf is a literary critic (NRC Handelsblad, Dutch national newspaper), author, interviewer and curator of (inter-) national literary events. She was the Director of the Centre Français du Livre at the French Cultural Institute in Amsterdam, as well as of the Academic-Cultural Centre SPUI25. Ten years ago she initiated the European Literature Prize in The Netherlands, which is now an important prize for European literature translated into Dutch.

Iris Meijer

Iris Meijer has been working as a bookseller at Linnaeus Boekhandel in Amsterdam since 2015. Apart from day-to-day sales in store, she is responsible for the selection and purchase of English titles and partially responsible for the selection and purchase of fiction and non-fiction titles. Apart from her work at Linnaeus, she co-organises the annual nationwide event De Week van het Korte Verhaal [The Week of the Short Story] and she also coordinates booksales at the Lowlands Festival.

Martijn David

Martijn David (1962) worked in publishing for over twenty years. He has published translated and original Dutch literary fiction and non-fiction. Since 2012, he is the director of the Dutch Publishing Association for general books.
